An order will not be started until a general working drawing and The Woodage’s Terms are signed by the client.
Average benchtop thickness is 30mm for Ex 38mm and 40mm for Ex 50mm however these may vary based on species and benchtop size/layout. We endeavor to keep the benchtops at maximum thickness but No Responsibility will be taken for benchtops under the average thickness unless specifically stated on the working drawing/s.
The Woodage makes every effort the maintain colour consistency however No Responsibility will be taken by The Woodage for colour variation within a timber species in the benchtop.
The average board size for laminated benchtops is 100mm to 200mm wide boards however sizes outside this range may be used depending on stock availability at the time of order unless specifically stated on the quote or working drawings. Multiple board widths may be used depending on stock availability at the time of order unless specifically stated on the working drawings.
Raw Sanded Blanks will be sanded to 120 grit unless specifically stated on the quote or working drawings. Orders with Hard Oil – OSMO will be sanded to 180 grit before coating.
Natural timber may contain knots, pin hole, gum vein and other natural feature unless specifically stated on the quote or working drawings.
Any overhang greater than the width of a board lamination across the width of the benchtop should be reinforced with aluminium T-Bar installed into the underneath of the benchtop. This is not included in the raw sanded blank price (listed under extras). If the overhang is greater and the client chooses not to have the reinforcement installed then the benchtop will not be cover under warranty.
On receipt of the benchtops it is crucial that they are stored in a way that they are protected from the weather and areas that are subject to extreme changes in humidity. Store flat at least 200mm off the floor to allow air to circulate and ideally wrapped in blankets. Raw sanded blanks should be coated as soon as possible to avoid movement.
Some raw sanded blanks maybe sealed by The Woodage with a Water based Polyurethane sealer product to prevent movement. This sealer is not a usable coating system and must be removed prior to finishing. If the sealer is to be used then it will be specifically stated on the quote and working drawings.
We will do our best to ensure that the boards being used are the full length of the benchtop/s required but this is not always possible or suitable. There may be multiple joins in the length of some/all the boards in your benchtop.
